The Challenge
Sure Petcare gave eg technology the challenge of designing a feeder that would only allow access to particular pets whilst keeping food fresh and containing its smell. The new product would allow the owner to monitor and control food consumption for the right pet.

Our Approach
eg technology worked closely with the team at Sure Petcare to design a feeder that would keep food covered in an airtight bowl and only open when the authorised pet approached. The design needed to combine function with style and ease of use. The RFID microchip reading electronics had to be positioned in a way that would create good access for the pet and not interfere with comfortable feeding.
Our Results
Photorealistic visualisations and physical prototypes were produced and the challenges of sealing the bowl, operating the door, integrating the RFID coil and laying out the internal components were addressed. The end result is a revolutionary product for the pet industry and the SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder is now being sold successfully around the world.
